Mary Dalton is an internationally-recognized and award-winning artist. Her work combines different techniques to generate a language in print that is unconventional and energetic. This energy is also reflected in her teaching and her pop-up printmaking workshops. Mary Dalton is the founder of the award winning Washroom Press. She is a professional artist and printmaker whose work spans across genres, pushing printmaking into the realm of sculpture, installation, textiles and performance.
Alumni of the world-renowned Royal College of Art, award winning Mary has a wealth of teaching experience in many areas of printmaking. Her work features in many collections including the Tate Library, Imperial War Museum, V&A Museum, the Canadian War Museum and the British Library. She was trained by master printmakers Alan Smith, Robin Smart and Stanley Jones MBE.
Education is an essential aspect to her practice and she is a regular tutor at West Dean College of Arts and Conservation for both the short courses and the permanent Fine Art students. She also teaches at various workshops and studios across London and the South East, including the wonderful Ochre Print Studio. She also involves herself with much community and outreach teaching including at the John Hansard Gallery in Southampton, Arts Council England funded projects for her village and beyond, festivals, fairs and education with purpose.
